Lohagad is at a distance of 11 km from Lonavala, 66 km from Pune and 114 km from Mumbai. Shreemant Dagdusheth Halwai Dagdusheth Shrivastav was a trader and a sweet maker who came from Ausa, Maharashtra and permanently settled in Pune. He became a rich business man and a famous sweet seller and got his surname as Halwai. He adopted Govindseth as his son, who later replaced 1st Idol of Ganpati with a new idol. Govindseth’s son replaced 2nd idol with the 3rd one which we can see currently in the temple. This idol was known as Navasacha Ganpati.
